We are thrilled to announce the screening of one of the most celebrated Thai films of the decade —
‘Lahn Mah’ (How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies), directed by Pat Boonnitipat.
Originally set to open our 2025 Contemporary World Film Series, the screening was postponed due to the earthquake calamity and now proudly takes center stage this June.
This moving, thought-provoking family drama has captivated audiences across Asia, Europe, the U.S., and Latin America. It was Thailand’s official Oscar entry and reached the Top 15 shortlist, also winning major awards at Busan, Tallinn, Miami, and the Asia Pacific Film Awards.
🎥 The story centers on “M,” a video-game caster who decides to take care of his terminally ill grandmother, hoping to inherit her property. But things aren’t so simple — her sons want their share too. What unfolds is a heartfelt journey full of emotion, humor, and insight into family and legacy.
Featuring riveting debut performances from Usha ‘Taew’ Seamkhum and Putthipong ‘Billkin’ Assaratanakul, the film has won praise for its depth and authenticity.
📣 Meet the Director: We are honored to welcome Director Pat Boonnitipat for an in-person Q&A session following the screening. His past work includes the acclaimed series Hormones and the TV remake of Bad Genius.
🍽 Reception to follow: Enjoy Thai cuisine by Chef Vanessa Wu (Kinnaree Restaurant) and award-winning Thai wines by Siam Winery.
