In a vibrant press conference held in Mumbai, the Film and Television Promotion Council of India (FTPC INDIA) unveiled two major initiatives that are set to energize the Indian film industry: the announcement of their upcoming feature film “Mumbai Blues” and the launch of the FTPC INDIA Mumbai New Talent Film Awards – 2025.
Produced by Suraj Singh Mas and Chaitanya Janga, Mumbai Blues tells the heartfelt story of four close friends—three boys and one girl—navigating their dreams, challenges, heartbreaks, and victories in the ever-evolving landscape of Mumbai. Described as a celebration of friendship and ambition, the film captures the spirit of those striving to make it on their own terms.
The film is written and directed by P.V.S. Varma, with K. Phani leading the cinematography, promising a visually engaging and emotionally resonant narrative.
The event also marked the formal announcement of the FTPC INDIA Mumbai New Talent Film Awards 2025, an initiative that aims to recognize and uplift new voices in the Indian film and television ecosystem.
“Through the FTPC INDIA Mumbai New Talent Film Awards, we are taking a step forward in uplifting new artists and technicians from every corner of India. This initiative is not just about accolades—it’s about building confidence and opening doors to deserving newcomers across the country,” said Chaitanya Janga, President of FTPC INDIA.
Suraj Singh Mas, producer and FTPC INDIA’s Bollywood Special Representative, added:

The awards ceremony is scheduled for September 2025, with the final list of nominees to be released by the end of August. Mr. Suraj Singh Mas will lead the selection process to ensure fairness and transparency.
General Secretary V.S. Vijay Varma Pakalapati emphasized the importance of the initiative:
