More functionality has been added to the already useful Nokia Maps in the 2.0 update
Nokia has seen fit to update its Maps app once more.
Nokia Maps, which is exclusive to the Lumia Windows Phones, adds a number of new features:
- Ability to add a photo to a place description and leave a review
- Cross platform syncing of your favorites
- Ability to pin directions and not just places or categories
The first new feature means you can get happy snappy with your camera and remember what the place looked like.
Cross platform syncing means your favourites are stored on Windows Phone, Symbian and MeeGo as well as the mobile web version available on iOS and Android. Handy if you often jump from one device to another.
Lastly, the ability to pin directions makes the app even more useful as you can make them directly accessible from the Windows Phone Start screen.
If you’ve got a Windows Phone but not used Nokia Maps, it’s definitely worth a look as extras such as this separate the Lumia handsets from other Windows Phone-powered devices.
It’s also handy for getting from A to B when, if like us, you possess the navigation skills of Stevie Wonder (we love you, Stevie). You can even get the lowdown on popular locations nearby.
If you own one of the Lumia smartphones – it doesn’t matter which one – you will be prompted to update the app via the Windows Marketplace icon. Download, install and voila.
